be steadfast, wind.
carry me when my heart wanders
dance with me through
the storms and the seas.

I dream of the stars,
the valley beneath
my back to the earth
pressed on roses and leaves.

And take me home
bring me back on my knees
scrambling to find
a way to the trees

for I am safe,
and I am sound
when I am where
I can’t be found
